Here's a simple way to add colour and texture to some standard battery fairy lights, using plastic shot glasses...
I took a pack of 10 shot glasses, some fairy lights and some wool (which came free with a magazine)
Using a Dremel drill, I made holes in to the bottom of each shot glass - I had it on a slow speed, so not to crack the plastic
I crocheted jackets for the glasses out of various colours of wool:
ch 15
Join with sl to make a ring
ch 2, dc into each chain and join at top of ch 2 with sl
*ch 3, tr into each stitch and join at top of ch 3 with sl* for 3 rows
These could be used at Christmas or even for a summer BBQ!
May need to get some more glasses for the vodka though...
